Located in a beautiful stone house in the town centre of Murgia, this museum takes you into the fabulous world of beekeeping where you will learn interactively where and how honey is produced in the Gorbeia area.

The bees, venerated for centuries by the Egyptians and Romans, live in colonies in the hives, where the worker bees deposit their food, pollen and honey.

The museum exhibits instruments and various elements traditionally used in the management of the hives and in the production of honey and its derivatives.

 

An olfactory section, images and different interactive panels are responsible for making the museum a dynamic space for children. The extraction room is the perfect place to see how this liquid gold is collected.

 

Gorbeia honey is a delicacy that you can buy in many shops. The museum is also the headquarters of the Gorbeia Beekeepers' Association, which offers a wide range of honey-related experiences, including visits to the beehives.

 

To visit the museum it is necessary to make an appointment in advance. Visits take place in the mornings and afternoons, every day, for groups of a minimum of four people.
